Memorial Day!

A day to remember those who paid the supreme sacrifice when serving our country in defense of our freedom. Their efforts have given us so much to be thankful for. The ceremonies of the day to honor their service cannot make up for their loss and the loss that their families and friends have had to bear. But, it's the best that we can do and not to honor them would be a huge disservice.

Knowing how family and friends were so concerned when my situation was in doubt only serves to heighten the awareness of what those countless others have had to bear.

We do have a lot to be thankful for and the perfect day that we had today serves to highlight how grateful we should be. How different life would be if those fallen soldiers had not been successful in their efforts - we can only guess! But, it's hard to imagine that it could be any better than what we have today.

I am personally grateful for this day because it is a day that was not granted to me. It's a day that so many of you, and others, worked so hard to see happen and your, and their, efforts were rewarded.

As we all say thank you to our fallen soldiers, I say thank you to all of you...

Bob
