It's beginning to get out of hand!

We went to the movies tonight. It's the first time that we've been to a regular movie in a few months. They must think that we are all made of money! The "senior citizen" price had jumped from $6.00 to $7.50 - a 25% increase! The regular movie ticket price has now jumped to $9.50!
No wonder we all stay at home and watch movies "On Demand" or get them via NetFlix.

Of course, when I think back just a few years ago when I was a kid and the movies only cost 9 cents; this new price seems a little over the top! We all complained way back then when the price was raised to 15 cents. That, of course, was a 67% increase! We certainly had the right to be upset about such a preposterous increase!

I'm just thankful that I'm not doing the dating scene these days. Of course, it's been quite awhile since I did do it. But, it's so expensive nowadays to do anything! Sitting at home and watching television becomes more and more attractive even though, as with tonight after we got home, there was absolutely nothing on the myriad channels that we get that was actually worth watching!

Maybe I shouldn't complain. I should just accept life as it unfolds in front of me and just be grateful that I'm still around and able to grouse about how things are going. I'm beginning to sound like Andy Rooney - heaven forbid!

I guess that the only solution will be to win the lottery...
