Bring on the cold!

The story really isn't about me at all! Now that we have benn inundated with snow(another 6 inches today), it's time to really get cold. No January thaw for us this year, they are predicting nightime temperatures to dip to -10 to -15 degrees. Up north, the prediction is for -30 to -35 degrees at night over the next tfew days. These are the coldest temperatures that we've had in years. Thank God for global warming - otherwise it could be even worse!

As for me, I just await my next doctor's visit on Friday to Mass Eye And Ear to check out the inflated pressure in my eyes due to the prednisone that I take. After that, on the following Wednesday, it's back to Dana Farber after 3 months. It seems like yesterday since I was there. Time really flies fast when you are having as much fun as I've been having.

Bob. it's winter, it's New Hampshire, get used to it...

Just marking time until my next doctor's visit!

Today was another snow day - seven inches or so. Yesterday I brought home a lamp that didn't work from a neighbor who had the task to fix it as one of the things that she wanted done. Since there was nothing to do but hunker down, it was the perfect opportunity to attack the problem.

Now a lamp is not a very complicated thing. The problem was ultimately traced down to an intermittent connection at the plug that someone had replaced at one point in time. It was very frustrating, to say the least, when the lamp would work and then it wouldn't work. Long story short! I replaced the errant plug and everything is working fine now.

Yesterday was spent painting a new sliding door at our neighbor's place and fixing a computerr problem. Tomorrow I hope to put in three dimmer switches, finish the painting, and do a couple of other minor fixes. I feel like a jack of all trades. For sure, I am a master of none!

Anyway, it keeps me busy and, hopefully, my neighbor will be happy with the results.

Currently, no health changes that I can detect.

The goal is to just keep on trucking...

Not a fun day on Sunday!

We are going to my mother-in-law's apartment to go over what she has left and decide how to handle disposing of the contents. It's hard to believe that it was only two weeks ago that she was with us and we were all gathered around for her final day.

But, I have to admit that it has been helpful, especially for my wife, to talk to friends who have been through this before and can provide suggestions to make the transition from our "old" normal life to the "new" normal a little easier.

As for other activities, we bought a new microwave oven so that we don't have to worry about having to replace the old one after we put in our new tile backsplash. I also have some work to do for a neighbor and, in February, the friends who we went to dinner with tonight will return and pick out a new vanity which I will install for them. So, lots to do in the ensuing months which is the way that it should be.

I think that my eyes are getting better. They seem to start off pretty good in the morning and, then, as I keep throwing more and more stuff into them as the day wears on my right eye is not quite as clear as it was at the beginning of the day. However, I do feel that it is slowly improving - which is certainly a good sign.

Not much else to say at this point other than - go Patriots...
