A great day!
Did a lot of things today as part of my ever busy schedule. I picked up my grandson this morning and we went to the big box store to get the material for my shelving project. After returning home for lunch, I attended part of my architectural history course, gave another Zimmerman House tour, came home for dinner, and then we went to the local minor league team's baseball game. Pretty full day!
Tomorrow we leave for the lake for a big family reunion. The weather projects to be very hot this weekend unlike last year's unseasonably cold weather.
It's great to be alive...

Half way done!
It's hard to believe but we've reached the halfway point for this year. The time does seem to fly(when you're having fun!)
I attended the architectural history class today. Though it was interesting, it doesn't look like it's going to provide much additional background that can be used when giving the Zimmerman House tours. Of course, being early in the course our current era is between 3500 and 1300 BC!
Tomorrow is my last tour for a while. The course occupies my afternoons and they're all basically signed up for in July. With 60 docents available, the slots are few and far between, So, I'll set my sights on August.
Tomorrow, in the morning, I'll gwet my wood for the garage shelving with the able assistance of my almost 14 year old grandson. He's obviously a BIG help in these situations.
A quiet day, all in all.
The way they should be...

I guess that I'm not too bad!
As I mentioned earlier, I did a tour of the Zimmerman house yesterday. Unbeknownst to me, a friend of my wife's was part of the tour. This woman was also at the art class that my wife was taking today and she mentioned how much she enjoyed the tour she was on yesterday and how wonderful the docent was. She did not know that I was the docent for the tour. In mentioning it to my wife, my wife then informed her that I was the docent.
Maybe I've found a new calling. It's nice to get feedback and especially nice to get the complementary kind. However, the job doesn't pay very well in monetary terms but I really do enjoy talking with the people and the people have been kind. I do think that I am getting better at it even though I've only done it 3 times. Number 4 is Thursday.
Back to using the word otherwise but that is about the only way to segway into the fact that I'm feeling fine. I'm still waiting for the garage floor to completely dry as the directions on the can explain. So, on Thursday I'll pick up my grandson in the morning and we'll get the wood that I need for the shelving. But, with the holiday weekend here, I'll have to wait until Tuesday to begin working on it.
It's summer time and the livin' is easy...

A nice weekend!
I finished off the garage floor today and the trim yesterday, we had friends over to play cards this evening, and we watched my grandson's baseball game yesterday morning.
I got cornered to serve as chalice bearer this morning at church. It's not that I don't like to do it but I was prepared to sit in the pews and enjoy the service and not be a part of it. I will certainly help if I am called upon it's just that we have a limited number of chalice bearers and I don't wish to do it every Sunday during the summer. Maybe I should feel grateful that I'm still needed.
Speaking of needed. Tomorrow I do my third Zimmerman house tour. It's been a few weeks since the last one so, hopefully, I haven't lost my touch - if I ever had any touch to begin with.
But another busy week is about to beging - two tours, the architecture course begins, and I have to commence building the shelving in the garage.
This is a lot better than the alternative...
