Spotty!

On this 8th anniversary of the tragic 9/11 attacks, I'm probably making the last actual entry for a few days. I'll construct entries for every day but without internet access, it will be a few days before I get the opportunity to actually get them out to the web.

The much anticipated auction of my company seems to be held up in some legal wrangling. What a big surprise! So me and my company are still in limbo at this point. Hopefully, the situation will clear up next week and when I get back I can find out who I belong to(to whom I belong?) I don't know which is the better English - but in this day and age it seems that anything goes so I guess that I shouldn't get too hung up on it.

We're all packed and ready to go. I'm looking forward to having a chance to just get away for a while. The weather will be a little nippy - but it's the beginning of autumn and just what you would expect.

I'm feeling great and fully expecting that after this week I'll be feeling even greater if that is at all possible. So painting is on hold. But there is plenty of time in which to finish the job.

So it's off to Maine...

Withdrawal!

That's what some of you may be going through as I probably will not have the ability to publish a daily entry in Maine starting on Saturday. Where we are staying has NO INTERNET! So it's back to the Stone Ages for a few days. However, there is WiFi at a local book store so I will most likely generate my entries off-line and publish them when I can.

Our priest came by today as I mentioned earlier and, once again, we had communion. It's much more special now because it happens so infrequently.

Tonight is another reminder of what I continue to miss. Choir rehearsal started for the new year and I am not yet able to attend. I suppose that the good news is that I will be back before this year's season is over. When will that be? Don't know....

Our deacon is having a bone marrow biopsy tomorrow and she is in my prayers that all turns out for the best. Of course, the results won't be in until some time next week. From experience, I can tell you that it's a very anxious waiting period. Like nothing I've ever experienced before in my life!

Likewise, tomorrow is auction day for my company. What it means for me - I have no idea. But there is nothing that I can do but see who buys it and pick it up from there.

So, for sure tomorrow night will have an entry and we'll see how it goes from there...

09/09/09! Today's date is, obviously, only one of twelve that are like this for this century. Three more to go!

That's about the only significant event of the day. I continued painting and we are beginning to make preparations for our week in Maine.

As usual - my health is fine.

This wonderful ride continues...

Back to reality!

Yes, I continued with my painting project and closed the day by fighting to get two windows open that have not been open since we moved in over 2 and a half years ago because they were painted shut on the inside by the previous owners and painted shut on the outside by the "professional" painters who painted the outside of the condo two years ago. What a battle! But I finally prevailed! I wonder what my doctor would have thought if he had seen me going full throttle trying to get the best of those windows!

Other than that, our thoughts are turning toward the weekend and our "vacation" trip to Maine for the following week. I suppose that one could say that I have been on "vacation" since last October since I haven't worked a day since then. But, a change of scenery is always welcome and it will be our last "fling" for the summer. I know that I am not allowed to "fling" very much but I'm hoping for diminished crowds and beautiful fall weather to allow me to make the week a memorable one. I have to thank our priest ever so much for this wonderful gift.

And, speaking of our priest - he will be visiting us Thursday afternoon.

Healthwise, the beat goes on. It won't be until October 7th that I return to the clinic. There was nothing available the prior week at the time we wanted so we opted for the 7th and the 28th of October for my next two appointments.

That's about it for another day...

Back home!

If only until Saturday - but that's alright by me. The weatherman lied to us yesterday. The weather was sunny but chilly. A perfect day for another walk but not ideal at all for water activities. So I got some good exercise today as well. Tomorrow, it's back to painting and I'll get my exercise that way.

Everyone thought that we were staying overnight tonight and returning home tomorrow morning but my wife has an early morning meeting so that preempted that idea. It's still not a good idea to wear out your welcome. The old saying is that guests and fish become the same after three days - they both begin to smell!

Most importantly, good health reigns supreme as usual...

A wonderful coincidence!

I was walking with my wife's cousin this afternoon and happened to encounter someone with whom I worked. I had not seen this individual in over 10 months, so it was a wonderful surprise. Of course, we talked about how everything was disintegrating at work and the upcoming auction this Friday(9/11 what an unfortunate date!).

But he also commented that I looked better now than I did 10 months ago. I replied that it was probably the fact that I did not have to endure any work stresses over that timeframe. But, it seems to be what a lot of people say who have not seen me in some time. So, I guess that all this has been worth it!

It was really an early fall day today - clear but cool. So it was perfect for walking but a little cool for water activities. Tomorrow my grandchildren are looking forward to a boat ride and perhaps some jet skiing. The weather promises to be a little warmer. I like to see the kids be able to do the things that they want to do. It's always enjoyable to see that they are happy.

I'm still feeling fine and these three days are perfect for relaxing before I continue my kitchen painting on Tuesday.

One more day. I hope that the traffic is not horrendous tomorrow night...
