Not much to say!
Yesterday the big event was my granddaughter getting her broken nose reset after breaking it while jumping on a trampoline last Friday. They have to wait until the swelling goes down before they can reset it so it took a full week to have that happen.
Tonight was dinner at a friend's house which was very good. Daytime activities involved working on my project downstairs. I never stop for weekends - for me, every day is basically the same. However, I will stop on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday as we make our way to Boothbay Harbor, Maine with friends to get away for a few days.
As for my eyes, they seem to be getting better. Overall, I'm feeling fine. Just the usual aches and pains that plague all of us as we get older.
Life is good and it's great to be able to continue to enjoy it...

I'm getting old!
Yesterday we signed up for all of our Medicare health insurance. Since we have no idea how long my current situation will continue with my long term disability and its health insurance. Boy, it makes you feel as though you are on the last page of your life when reach this stage. However, the good thing is that it's a lot less expensive than anything that you could get if you were much younger. Being a "senior" citizen does have its advantages.
What else has happened. Not much. My son and his daughters were over for dinner. Another advantage at my age - grandchildren!
Life continues on and I continue to work on my project here with today's activity being the painting of the ceiling in the room. However, I must admit that progress proceeds at a slower pace. One reason is that I can afford to do it this way. But the real reason is that I can't attain the same pace that I did in my younger days. A disadvantage of being long in the tooth as they say.
For all of you suffering from triscadecaphobia tomorrow is the dreaded Friday the 13th. Personally. I don't expect any problems - but we'll wait and see!
Less than two weeks until my next doctor's visit.
It will be interesting to see where I stand...

A busy two days!
Of course, I have continued working on the room downstairs. But, yesterday a friend had her car hood come loose and smash her windshield. She needed our help to complete her errands and to get a ride home. It was a freak accident and, thank God, no one was hurt. I cannot imagine how shocking it must be to have that happen when you are traveling at 60 miles an hour on the highway.
Today we met with friends for dinner and had a great time.
Healthwise, I'm douing fine. The eyes appear to be getting somewhat better which is a very good thing.
It's wonderful to be able to keep busy and enjoy life...

Back home again!
After two days at the lake and no real internet hookup, I am back home again and able to post once again. It was two beautiful days - great weather, lots of cards, good food, good company, a nice boat ride, and the list goes on.
But reality is always with us and I just can't ignore my situation. Ove the past week or so graft vs host disease has taken some small root in my eyes. What does this mean? Basically, it feels like dry eye. The tear ducts don't work quite as well as they should. Sporadically, it causes discomfort as you blink frequently to, hopefully, increase the moisture that is in your eyes. The last two days have seen some improvemant and maybe I'm over the hurdle. Who knows? I'll just have to wait and see. In any case, I'll keep you informed.
However, no matter what happens, the manisfestation of this side effect does not cause any permanent damage to your eyesight. So that worry does not exist.
And, it does not keep me from doing all that I wish to do. Tomorrow, it's back to my project and work will continue apace.
Isn't it always something...
