Happy birthday!
Not to me, but to a friend that I have known since 1951! Fifty nine years is a long time and you would think that we might have lost contact somewhere alone the way! And, you'd be right! But we've been in contact now for the past 20 years or so and it's hard to believe that you could know someone for that long.
I can still remeber the first time we met as 8 year olds in the field behind my house. To be honest with you, I don't remember a lot of things; but that memory sticks with me. It just makes you realize how long our lives have been and yet it seems like only yesterday.
Yes, every day is a gift and the things that we treasure most are not things - it's the friends and memories that we make together.
Tonight we played bridge with a number of our neighbors. Who cares who won?(I didn't) It's just the social aspect that is really important. You meet nice people, you play cards, you have fun, life is good!
I finished redoing my closet today. But, that is just a thing to keep me occupied. Interacting with people again is what really keeps me going.
It's time to sign up for more Zimmerman House tours...
Bob
