I wish that they would make up their minds!

I received a letter in the mail today stating that my company has withdrawn its case to end the long term disability on August 31st. At first, that appears to be good news. And to some extent it is! However, I called the phone number that I had to get a better understanding of what that means as I am trying to arrange my life so as to cope with what lies ahead.

It turns out that the company originally wanted to end the LTD in May! And now, withdrawing the case to be heard in August appears to be only a temporary delay. The woman to whom I spoke said that they could very well resurrect the matter in a month or two. In any case, Nortel is sending out a letter on Wednesday that will, hopefully, "clear up the matter".

So,,,

...no layoff and no loss of long term disability on August 31st. I guess that I have to thank God for this minor miracle. I could never imagine that the case would have been withdrawn.

It's been a nice couple of days and tomorrow we have two of the grandchildren for the day and we're planning an excursion that, hopefully, will be fun for them. These are the things that I treasure the most as they are treats that I might never have been able to see.

I'm still feeling fine and there's only about five weeks to my next appointment.

Time, and the summer, are traveling real fast...
