A mixed bag of tricks!

Yesterday, it was off to Peabody, Massachusetts to visit friends. We went to Rockport to enjoyy the beautiful day by the water and we ate lunch there. A great day that was dampened a little bit by coming home during rush hour traffic but it was well worth it.

Today was spent working on my project here at home, taking a survey, and then going to a movie. The survey was interesting. It was about the need to seek professional help to deal with the mental stresses that accompany having a bone marrow transplant. However, for me there is just one problem. I didn't suffer any mental stress! The assumption that people can't handle all that happens to them without the need for professional help is a little much for me. Fortunately, I didn't have any problems. I'm not knocking those who desire such therapy in order to cope with the entire process. But to assume that it's the only way to make it through is a bit presumptuous in my opinion.

As for the movie it was "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" and it was a nice escapist kind of move. Except for the fact that the two people sitting next to me had to talk to the movie! "Don't do that!" "Look out" "Behind you" and other assorted admonitions peppered the entire show. I guess that they thought that the people in the movie would not be able to survive without their having some additional help! As for me, I just watch what's going on.

Another hot summer's day. In fact right now the temperature is 82 degrees! That's usually a 4:00 in the afternoon temperature - not a midnight one!

Tomorrow I go to church(got to do chalice duty), work on my project, and attend a meeting at the Currier. A full day as usual.

I find that activity is the best therapy of all...

Bob
