A bittersweet day!

The downside of attending the blood disease support group reared its ugly head tonight when it became known that one of the group members passed away on July 3rd. What a brave and courageous lady she was. Even though things were not going well, she maintained an upbeat and positive attitude throughout which served as inspiration for us all. Everyone there is upbeat - some having bigger battles to face than just cancer and just looking at the disease as a minor hindrance to getting on with their lives and the changes therein.

During the meeting, I happened to mention that I was collecting social security and the people couldn't believe it! Again everyone said that I didn't look my age. Maybe chemotherapy has a side effect that acts like the fountain of youth! I don't recommend that you try it, however. Stick with plastic surgery.

I spent the afternoon in class getting some benefit from the course in architectural history. But I really want to know the hows, and whys, etc. and it's not readily forthcoming which is a disappointemnt.

Tomorrow will not be a disappointment, however, as we take our grandson to Mystic Connecticutt to visit the seaport museum and the aquarium. It promises to be a fun day. One has to enjoy our beautiful New England summer weather while we can.

Life marches on and I'm glad to still be a part of the parade...

Bob
