Someone to be proud of!
That's my grandson! He got 3 awards at his eighth grade graduation last night. He was one of the top 50 in his class(they don't give you a number), he was one of the top 25 in science(again they don't tell you a number), and he was the winner of the English writing prize. For the last award, his teacher said that she had never seen anyone with as extensive a vocabulary as he has. He loves to read and it shows.
To top it all off, he made highest honors for his final report card of the year.
Those are the good things in life and it makes you wonder what more lies in wait and it makes you want to be around to see it. I would hate to think that if my situation hadn't resolved itself in such a positive way that his achievements would be offset by the fact that I would not have been there to see them.
It's great to see the grandchildren start to come into their own.
Even though we don't get any older, they grow up right before our very eyes...
