One of the most spiritually moving talks that I have ever heard!

That's what a friend said tonight about my speech back on February 21st. I was glad that he felt that way about it but a little bit humbled by the fact that he kind of elevated it to the top of his list. I guess that the words that God wished for me to say did resonate with a few people. But the story is not mine and it is a story that could be told by others who were at the conference the past two days and that's what makes it so great. For God is there and there are so many people who can testify to that fact!

We attended a session on spirituality this morning and it closed with the results from an interesting experiment. A double blindsided test was run whereby people prayed for a group of people that they did not know AND the people who were being prayed for did not know that that was taking place. These people were part of an overall group of people suffering from a similar disease. The results were more than statistically significant that the group being prayed for were improved much more than their counterparts. I'm not saying that prayer is the solution to all problems but it can certainly play a part in the process.

I did learn today that my cavities are probably the result of graft vs host disease and, along with fixing them, a flouride treatment regimen should greatly reduce the liklihood of more occurring. I'll speak to my dentist on Wednesday about this.

Overall, the bone marrow transplant survivor conference was a well worth the time commitment. It's not something that you need to do more than once - but you should do it.

The day ended with a party of sorts at a friend's house and we had a great time.

Having so many friends is a great blessing...

Bob
