A first!
That's right. For the first time ever we went leaf peeping up north today and it really was a beautiful sight along the Kancamagus Highway. In the past, since I was working, we wouldn't go on weekends due to the crowds and I never really had any midweek opportunities. So, my current situation has provided me with an opportunity that I never really had before. Always look on the bright side - as the song goes.
Unfortunately, unbeknownst to us, a fatal auto accident down here in Manchester took a return trip of about an hour and a half and added two hours to it. I was just about exhausted at the end of the trip. All that stop and go traffic for miles and miles and miles just gets to you.
But it was a nice day to be out with two of our grandchildren with a perfectly clear sky for most of the day making the foliage a most gorgeous sight. It being a holiday(Columbus Day), there was still a fairly large number of tourists and the tourist buses were everywhere.
I am still doing extremely well and that is the most important thing...
