May 8, 2009 10:15 PM 20 days to go

It was a beautiful day weatherwise.

With Mother's Day being Sunday, my wife picked up my mother-in-law and she will be here with us for the weekend. It's the first time that she has stayed with us since my illness began and I know that it means a lot to her to see that I am doing well. We talked a little bit today about how she orients her life at 91 years young.

For her, it's all goal oriented existence and, as time goes by, new goals always seem to emerge to replace the ones that have been achieved. For example, when she turned 90, her goal was to see her youngest grandchild graduate from college. This will occur next Saturday(the 16th). Now that goal has been replaced by her looking forward to my full recovery sometime in 2010. It was a rather moving moment for me when she said that that was the one thing that was going to keep her going in the year to come.

And, I am still doing very well - looking forward to the weekend and being here to help my mother-in-law celebrate another Mother's Day.

I think that's about it for today...

Bob
