It was another great Wednesday!
My counts are great. So great that there is no reason not to start the immuno-suppressant weaning process next week. The way that it is going to work is that they wean me off of one of the medications and, when that is done, they wean me off of the second one. I asked the doctor what the difference was between the 2 drugs and he said that they both accomplish the same thing but they do it in different ways.
Early on, the doctor gave me a pamphlet and information regarding taking an experimental drug as part of a clinical trial should I suffer from graft vs host disease. Since that has not happened, there has been no mention of the trial. I must admit that the side effects from the drug were a little disconcerting and I was somewhat ambivalent about taking part in the trial. Thank God, there is no decision to make.
Each visit with the doctor goes pretty quick as there is nothing of any importance going on and the doctor is very pleased that that continues to be the case.
Now we're down to only 3 more weekly visits with the visit in 2 weeks including the removal of my Hickman catheter.
Things are happening on the medical front - but there still won't be a lot of changes on the home front.
I have no complaints - life is good...
Bob
