It’s been a really good day - the Pats won! Other than that, as I said before, my appetite is ebbing and I definitely feel more tired. But, the good news is that the doctors are impressed with my numbers and continue to say that everything is going to plan. At 10:00 tonight, day 5 of chemo begins - leaving only 2 more after that. As you can see, I am not keeping score.

Speaking of keeping score, the nurses have placed a chart on the wall that monitors my counts as they go down and then as they go up. To make it interesting, we started a pool here to see which numbers get to zero first - my counts or the stock market! Likewise, I fully expect my numbers to back to normal faster as well.

Had some visitors today. Unfortunately, I think that I am fading as being good company because I require more frequent naps. Of course, I know that many of you will say “What’s the difference?”

I have been remiss in not thanking Michael Duffy’s mother for the beautiful shawl. Coincidentally, she knit it in my favorite colors. Many people say that there is no such thing as coincidences - only God incidences. I have seen it happen many times which only lends more credence to the saying for me.

All in all, a quiet day - just as the doctor ordered.

Hi Bob, you are correct what is the difference if you nap in bed at the hopital with visitors or on your couch at home with a paper in your lap with visitors. It is 8 PM here and i am finally settling in to watch my Giants play the Eagles. Accomplished what I wanted to do today regarding my plan work for Big Blue (IBM) now I am looking forward to watching the real Big Blue (NY Giants) feast on some bird (Eagles). It is really good hearing that all is going well but it sure is the pits no appetite and no weight lose. I guess when you get back home it will be time for the treadmill and I will even let you use mine on your next visit. Paul asked us to baby sit the two little ones next weekend, Lorraine has told me I have to help,I said okay but I still do not do diapers. This Thursday's upcoming football game on NFL TV should be interesting with the Pats playing the Jets for first place. Will you be able to see it since it is on NFL TV? For now that is about it will blog you during the week between plan assignmnets as our reviews start on Tuesday and go all week with our 7 goegraphy organizations. As i have said Nancy and you are in our prayers both at home and in church, take care and no funny stuff with the nurses as you become sveldt Paul

Hi Dad, just got home from a great visit to see you. You may be getting tired more often and not able to keep awake as much, but there is one thing that you have not lost and that is your sense of humor. We all enjoy to see what the next entry brings on your blog. We had a good day, and even though Alex's team lost it was great to spend the game with family. Uncle Steve, Carrie, the girls and my in laws came to watch him play. Although they finished as State Runner's up that is no small shakes from what this team did this year and has accomplished. You continue doing what you are suppose to do, rest and get better, and we will continue to watch anxiously for you entries and keep cheering you on. State runner's up is as good as a champion, as long as you did your best and that is what they did. And that is what we expect from you. Keep up the great work, we love you.

Jen, Mike and the kids!

Mr. Johnson,

Jen has been keeping me updated on how you are doing, and I'm also tuning in to your daily blog. I didn't know you were such a great writer!!! I am glad to read and hear that you continue to be in good spirits. They say that's so important. I am glad that the Patriots won last weekend as well. I picked them in my weekly football pool and it helped me go 9-4 for the day. However, I can't be rooting for you this weekend. Since they are not playing the Yankees, I have to root for the NY team :)
Keep your spirits up and I will continue to pray for your speedy recovery. Say hi to Mrs. Johnson for me...
Love,
Lori

I will continue
